Pueblo Blvd. launched a closeout sale Friday with discounts of 10 to 30 percent on its merchandise.The North Side Blockbuster at 1535 U.S. 50 West remains open.At the South Side location, a large yellow banner announcing the pending closure hung from the store. Makeshift signs alerted customers to the discounts. Employees at the store said they could not comment on the closure. No firm closing date was listed on any of the signage.A message left with Blockbuster parent Dish Network Corp., based in Denver, was not returned Friday.The move continues a wave of Blockb儲存倉ster closures across the country as the brick-and-mortar stores lose business to RedBox, Netflix, Blockbuster's own video delivery services and others.Dish Network, which purchased bankrupt Blockbuster in 2011, closed about 500 of the stores in 2012 and announced in January plans to close another 300 in 2013, which would leave about 500 in the U.S.Each store employs about seven to 10 fulland part-time workers.In 2010, the last two Hollywood Video stores in Pueblo closed after the chain's owner, Movie Gallery, declared bankruptcy and opted to shutter its remaining 1,900 stores nationwide.Copyright: ___ (c)2013 The Pueblo Chieftain (Pueblo, Colo.)
