Source: Philadelphia Daily NewsJan.文件倉 10--A WEEK BEFORE "12 Years a Slave" battles for Oscar glory, it will be up for outstanding motion picture at the NAACP Image Awards.As this has been a strong year for black-oriented films, a win there isn't a gimme -- "Slave" will go up against "Lee Daniels' The Butler," "Fruitvale Station," "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" and "The Best Man Holiday."Nominees for best movie actor include Chadwick Boseman for "42," Chiwetel Ejiofor for "12 Years a Slave," Forest Whitaker for "Lee Daniels' The Butler," Idris Elba for "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" and Michael B. Jordan for "Fruitvale Station."The outstanding actress nominees: Angela Bassett for "Black Nativity," Halle Berry for "The Call," Jennifer Hudson for "Winnie Mandela," Kerry Washington for "Tyler Perry Presents Peeples" and Nicole Beharie for "42."In the outstanding supporting actor category, nods went to Cuba Gooding Jr., David Oyelowo and Terrence Howard for "Lee Daniels' The Butler" and to Howard and Morris Chestnut for "The Best Man Holiday."The nominees for outstanding supporting actress are Alfre Woodard and Lupita Nyong'o for "12 Years a Slave," Naomie Harris for "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," Octavia Spencer for "Fruitvale Station" and Oprah Winfrey for "Lee Daniels' The Butler."On the television side, the odd mix of nominations for outstanding comedy series went to "House of Lies," "Modern Family," "Real Husbands of Hollywood," "The Game" and "The Soul Man," while "Boardwalk Empire," "Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal," "The Good Wife" and "Treme" earned dramatic series nods.And there's lots more Tattl-y TV news:-_National Geographic Channel announced yesterday that it will air "Live from Space," a two-hour special to be broadcast live (hence, the title) from the International Space Station and from Mission Control in Houston this March.The network is promising shots of sunset and sunrise, city lights, lightning and shooting stars. Viewers will also get a guided tour of the space station and see experiments conducted in the floating laboratory.But no floating Sandra Bullock._Discovery Communications said yesterday that the Military Channel is changing its name to the American Heroes Channel, beginning in March.The network said it wants to broaden its focus to air programming about how people meet challenges beyond the battlefield._The Independent Film Channel will change its name to IFC, following in the poultry footsteps of Kentucky Fried Chicken, which changed its name to KFC._Super-busy producer Tyler Perry will soon have a fourth series, a drama, on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network.OWN said yesterday that it has ordered "Single Moms Club," for the fall. It's about a group of mothers who create a support group after being brought together by an incident a存倉 their children's school.It may be just a matter of time before Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network changes its name to Tyler Perry's Own Network._Speaking of OWN, its Lindsay Lohan reality show is behind schedule and in trouble, according to the New York Daily News.It's the unique nature of TV, that its "reality" can run behind schedule.In other LiLo non-news, In Touch magazine reports that she has been forbidden from going to see Britney Spears perform at Planet Hollywood during her Las Vegas residency."Lindsay has always been a big fan of Britney and would love to attend a show," a source told In Touch. "But there's no way she would ever get on the VIP list, because Brit's dad [and conservator, Jamie Spears] has a strict 'No Lindsay' rule."Note to Lindsay: It is possible to see a show when not on the VIP list. It's called buying a ticket._Now that "Saturday Night Live" has hired an African-American woman for its cast, the show is also adding two African-American women writers.They're LaKendra Tookes and Leslie Jones, according to the Hollywood Reporter._"Modern Family" is going Down Under.Qantas Airlines is partnering with the show's producers to fly the cast to Australia next month for a two-week shoot.In a statement, show creator Steve Levitan says: "We promise to feature a kangaroo, a koala and a boomerang."Duck, Phil, duck.TATTBITS_Flavor Flav (a/k/a William Drayton) was ticketed for speeding yesterday on the Meadowbrook Parkway in Long Island.He was allegedly driving 79 mph in a 55 mph zone.He had 16 suspensions on his license.He had a small amount of marijuana.He was heading to his mother's funeral._TMZ.com reports that Amanda Bynes has a good chance to make her NYC bong-throwing case go away because it took police so many days to find the shards of tossed glassware, nobody could prove if Amanda had thrown it.Law-enforcement sources told TMZ that Amanda will likely be told in court that if she behaves herself for the next 6 months, the charges will be dropped and the case will be sealed._Film director Zhang Yimou ("Hero," "House of Flying Daggers") must pay more than $1.2 million in fines for having three children in violation of China's strict family planning rules, officials said yesterday.Investigators concluded that the director and his wife, Chen Ting, flouted family planning policies by having the children without approval.
